During Christmas holiday we hear many to do things. Bury gifts, go to family gatherings, help needy people…. etc.
But have you heard about you don’t have to things?
Here are some things that you don’t have to do during the holidays.
Don’t pretend to be happy all the time
Christmas holiday is a holiday that most people are in good mood and want to be happy, but you don’t have to be if you don’t feel the same. It happens for all of us to experience some kind of down feelings, if that happens to you during this time don’t worry and be true to yourself.
Don’t like to go to a party? Then don’t
With holidays friends gather together, families hold parties and for us, it may not look as exciting as it sounds. If you don’t like to attend a party, then don’t go. You don’t have to go any place that doesn’t give you good feelings. Don’t be hard on yourself.
No gift is necessary
It’s true that we usually buy gifts and presents for our loved ones for the holidays but it’s ok if we don’t actually buy something. We can show our love by doing something else. Show your compassion with an action that you know will impress your loved one.
Continue your routines if you like
Seasonal changes don’t have to put pressure on you. If you like to exercise, then do and continue your routine. If you are on diet don’t let people tell you that it is alright to break it during the holidays. Keep going with your diet.
The point is doing whatever makes you happy.
Go against tradition if you don’t like it
Holidays usually have traditional doings. If you don’t like that tradition you don’t have to go with it or them.
For example, one tradition is to make a resolution when the year starts. If you don’t feel like it then don't do it.
In general, holidays are for you to relax and enjoy your time. Therefore, don’t be hard on yourself during the season and just try to have fun by being honest with yourself and inner feelings. Stop pretending and adjusting yourself with others.
